Jim,
With the looks of those first pix, it is going to be a stunning car when complete.
If you're considering additional input: In my opinion, less is more! Personally, I wouldn't do the entire hood. What I would have done is a few smaller flames sneaking out from under the hood, you know, from the seams. Just my opinion.
Jim,
Its so funny how you start out with something small, you like it, do more, then it just gets out of hand and now look your repainting your whole car..LOL
Great work.
Jon

It's definitely going to be a BEE-YOOT!
I like your idea of the smaller flames licking out from around the seems on the hood. Going to run that by the guys at the shop and see what they think.
Your defiantly right about less is more. It's easy to get a little too carried away with a project like this and end up with a cluttered-up mess of colors by adding to much. There seems to be a fine line on going over the edge or keeping it halfway balanced out with the overall lines of the car.
Jeff and Mark, the guys doing the paint work, have been a big help with their input on the design and keeping things in check.
Thanks for your input and comments, I appreciate it!
I also want to thank everybody else here that has responded, it is very much appreciated!
If anybody else has any comments or suggestions, whether good or bad, please feel free to post them. Thanks again!
It is going to look killer for sure.
If I was you I would not do the entire hood if you plan on driving it often. The hood takes abuse and it will be impossible to blend and if you do it will stick out like a sore thumb.
That is my only regret

Thanks Jon.
Yea, I know what you mean! There seems to be quite a few of us around here that get started with this stuff and just can't quit!
If I happen to find a cure for this problem, you'll be one of the first I'll notify! We defiantly need help!
Is your car finished and back home yet? I know it has to be driving you nuts being without it for so long. I've driven mine a total of 2 weeks out of the whole year so far due to the earlier engine rebuild period and now this. Sure hope it's worth the wait!

Glad you liked the idea Jim. However, no matter what you decide I am sure it is just going to blow us all away. Best of luck with the project and patiently awaiting pix of the process and final outcome.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate the advise!
Got a question for you if you don't mind. What's your thoughts/opinion on using a front bumper bra to protect the new paint? I've never used one and was a concerned it might do more harm than good by rubbing against the surface. I've been checking around and have gotten a few different opinions about this.
Holy Smokes Batman! Personally, I really like the soft, "ghosted" ethereal shaping of this particular and unique flame shape visible on your stunning C5. IMHO, this "misting" technique compliments the design cues inherent in the more modern body style of the C5 Corvette. Great Job!
