Well I've got the cash in hand to buy my first vette!! Been lurking here for months, learning about the C5 and all its quirks. So that brings me to the dreaded INSURANCE. What company's are you guys, ( and gals), with? This will be a pleasure car only, tried Grundy, thay said the car is too new! HELP!! It will be a 2000FRC Thanks
Liberty Mutual.............and the rate was very, very reasonable (FL)........sold my 2004 and bought a 2005..............it was still about the same as my wife's Lincoln LS.............my agent says that Vettes statistically are NOT in that many accidents........
Progressive was the only company to touch me with the mods I have.
When it was stock, I used Geico and State Farm.
State Farm was great during Alison. They paid up on my flooded Z28 in just a few day.
if you already have an insured vehicle you of course will want to check w/ your carrier for a possibly multi-vehicle policy discount. just a thought. good luck searching for a c5; they're the best! bub

I couldn't be happier, got LM and it was almost HALF of what everyone else wanted!

Just remember that price is important but there are other factors too. Service and reputation also counts. If you plan on being out of state a lot, be sure to go with a national company instead of a regional.
By the way, congrats on the Vette. There is nothing else like it.
Try Esurance.com
I had Progressive for a few years, but after a few years of no tickets or accidents, they decide to raise your insurance for the hell of it. Even though the cars are going down in value. Esurance was cheaper.
Good luck!
Does anyone use Traveler's Automobile Ins. Co.? I recently switched over to them from Safeco. Traveler's rate on my 99 vert is $362 for a six month multi car policy. I haven't heard much about them though and can't find any info online to see how they are if you ever need them.
My wife had Liberty Mutual for 30 years........we got married and Liberty Mutual wanted 2400 a year for her 2003 Honda Accord, my 97 GMC Sierra 1500 and my 2003 Vert Vette.
AIG insured us for $1800.00
and Liberty Mutual keeps calling my wife asking her to come back......
I am with Nationwide, have a 17-year-old son, 2 Jeeps and a 2000 Firebird. I am paying $150/year LESS on my 2000 a4 very than the 2000 Firebird vert. Go figure....
I have USAA which has restrictions on joining so I don't know if this will help. I don't remember how much mine went up, but we have the house and another car with them, and have never had a claim. If you can combine coverage into 1 company that would be cheaper I believe.
