Got the Borla Stingers installed yesterday. Jury's still out as to whether its too much sound or not. May take some getting used to. Is there anything I can do to temper the sound a bit that won't cost an arm and a leg?
Possibly an x-pipe may help you. I have dual tip on mine and love it. Just did a 5000 miles trip out west in the vette and never had any noise issues. But that was just me and the wife. We love'em. But anyway welcome to the Stinger Club.

Welcome to the club. I've got the dual tips too and they are perfect for me. We just did a 2500 mile trip to New England and the sound was the best it could be. No resonance and just the right amount of burble.
Ah, the Borlas are the best sounding exhaust IMO. Yeah they're a bit loud, but I love 'em. An X-pipe may subdue a bit of the "burble" but that's about it.
Hopefully you'll get used to them and enjoy the sound.
if you have a manual....i don't think you should have too many problems with how loud they are...just keep the rpms low...not too high and its quite....or just don't clean your ears for a while...the wax build up will help
I've heard others say that their exhaust systems got louder after driving it a while. Can't say that I noticed this on mine, but if it already seems too loud, it might actually get worse.

If you want to mellow the sound a little definately get an X-pipe. I had the Stingers for awhile and I didn't think they were extremely loud, probably because of my X-pipe. Resonance wasn't as bad as advertised either. Just wasn't the sound I was after. Good system though.

I love the sound of my quad round stingers. Have had them about 1 1/2 years. Soon after the install I noticed I was getting headaches. There was no way I was going to remove them, they sounded too good. Another forum member recommended the $99 partition from Ecklers. It is 3 inch foam covered with matching black carpet and has the Z06 and C5 logos. Problem solved! It cut down cabin noise enough in my Z06 to stop the headaches.

I did the Dynamat in the trunk and it made quite a bit of difference. The rest of the car will get Frost King and and the trunk will get a second layer in places where it sounded like a drum head when you tapped on it.

After awhile I took my Borlas off and went with the ZO6Ti system. I didn't want to take a chance of the X-pipe not quiting down the drone sound in the cabin.
But I didn't install hi-flo cats and X-pipe with the ZO6Ti and the sound is nice and mellow with a great sound at WOT. Good luck
