Its not too hard. You will need to take the black bezel off the headlight, then you will have access to stick your hand into the light housing and reach the bulb sockets. If you have large hands or arms though it can get to be a tight squeeze.
I did it 2 nites ago, found sylvania silverstars on sale. The owners manual has good instructions. Be very careful removing bezel not to scratch paint.
anything whiter/brighter than silverstars besides HID? Also, what bulb to use in the driving lamps so they are brighter than stock
Thanks,
D
People claim the PIAA's are brighter. They sure are pricier. You can't go brighter without drawing more watts, which is apt to burn out the wiring harness. If you really want brighter switch to the high wattage Euro light assemblies. (Pricey and slightly complex install, according to the instructions I've seen.)
BTW, I found that Silverstars make a much greater difference on the low beams than the high beams. If I were doing it over again I'd save $45 and just do the low beams.
Another BTW, when I reinstalled my bezels I noticed the fit against the headlight housing was very poor. Playing with them for an hour did not improve things. Has anyone else noticed poor bezel fit on their cars? It's just a cheap piece of lightweight black plastic. I never noticed mine until I switched bulbs, and now I see light leakage and poor edge seam fit.

One hint - the job is easier if you remove the headlight door covers. (You know, the painted lids.) It takes secure torx bits, but removing the covers gives you so much more access, and you can actually see what you're doing!
I read somewhere that you could safely change out the 35 watt bulbs( in your foglights) to 50 watt bulbs and turn the tilt higher( 5-6 times to the right) so that you would be able to see the road much better. Has anyone ever tried this?
