Default Rotor Question

i'm hoping to paint my calipers soon - hopefully this weekend, everytime i try to get this mod started something comes up. anyway, its a black vette, and i'm painting my calipers black. but i've notice on my drivers side rear rotor some rust on the "cap" - i'm not really sure what this area is called. See Pic - this is not my rotor but i circled where the rust is starting on mine. Here is my question. can i paint this "ridge" on my calipers also - i'm thinking black. i've seen rotor caps sold in various magazines so i would assume that i can do this. please advise and thanks in advance.

i would think sanding w/fine sandpaper, primer and then the same paint that i'm using on the calipers. whatdoyathink?

Yes, it can be painted. Just use the same paint you are going to use on the calipers. A little fine sanding to get the rust off and you should be good to go.

i should probably prime it first right? do you know if i can find high temp primer and also primer to apply with a brush as opposed to spraying? less overspray that way.

thanks
