Default 2 post lift

A friend has a 2 post lift , 11,000 Lb commercial, he wants to sell me. Can I keep a car on this lift with the tires hanging for extended times, like a couple of months without damage. He has an auto repair shop, and says it won't hurt anything. I was ready to jump on the American lift 4 post they have on sale, thanks Jim.

Not to dispute your friends expertise, but I wouldn't leave it on its
frame for months. On its suspension, yes.

I believe these bodies tend to flex a bit and panel/door alignment
can suffer.

This is just anecdotal but I had mine on a two poster several times
for a few days and had rear hatch issues both times.

I have a Bend Pac 2 post 10,000 lb lift, so speaking from experience, yes you can. The secret to doing that, and not stressing the hydraulic system of the lift, is to raise the car to the desired height and then let it down on the safety latch. The car then has to be raised up to relaease the safety in order to lower the car, but there is no pressure on the hydraulic system in the mean time. Buy the lift, you won't be sorry. It is the best piece of equipment you'll own and will make your life so much simpler, not only for storage, but for maintaining and repairing your cars.
Good luck!
