See.....now you're showing your *** in this. "All these 16 year olds". Man......I don't know a single 16 year old with a C5 (not to say there isn't one or more somewhere)......and the number of less than 20 year olds here in the C5 section is miniscule. Oh.....and the average (have you looked that word up yet?) age of a C5 owner is 50+. But of course you know better than the rest of us, don't you. Good job stud.

Ha. Because you haven't seen any, they must not exist. I don't remember any part of my dialogue stating that the average age of Corvette owners is 16. Wow, good thing you're not an attorney. You make horrible arguments. Good thing I am. I can see by your typing dialogue you've really lost your cool.. so I'm going to end this discussion. Before I do, just an FYI, I know of 3 relatives alone that are under 18 and under whom all own C5 corvettes. You can get all upset all over again now. I'm having a good time reading your defensive responses.
Just as one persons idea of what is a well maintained and clean house will differ from someone else's, so, also, ideas of what is a well maintained and "pristine" condition Corvette will differ -- widely! I have seen Corvettes that look like they need a paint job and new interior, but the owners think they are in "mint", "like new" condition.
I have yet to see any truely low mileage, excellent condition early C5s priced in the teens -- though many that are for sale at those prices are advertised as "immaculate", and "in new condition".
Ah... the art of pricing. The forums are too "global" to accurately gauge market value of cars in a specific area.
I paid waayy more than I would have liked, because I constantly saw great deals on here. Too bad nobody sold them that low last march. I would see a car, go look at it, try to negotiate down to what I thought was reasonable based on what I read here. Then leave, hoping the dealer would call saying they'd take the deal. Everytime, within a day or two, the cars would be gone.
So I got tired of getting my hopes up and trying to negotiate, when the next guy is willing to drop the cash at the level the dealers where asking, so I bit the bullet and bought for whatever I could negotiate on the spot.
I don't really feel all that bad about what I paid either. It wasn't "the best deal on the planet" but not the worst either.
