For those who have some experience in this area how would you compare the Corsa Indy, Borla Stinger or just the Z06 Ti exhaust on as a convertible replacement. I am leaning toward the corsa system. It seems to be quiet at cruising from my impressions but aggressive on acceleration. I would appreciate anyones thoughts.
if your cars a 6 spd....go with the borla stingers...i coudln't be happier with mine on my convertable sounds deadly when you get on it...and you can't even notice you have a exhaust at lower rpms (normal driving) good luck with your search
I think you'll find that the majority of forum members have Borla Stingers for one reason - incredible sound, especially at startup/idle. Still, you may like the alternate sounds that the others exhibit. I chose the exhaust that sounded most like my 68 C3/headers/turbo mufflers and I have never regretted it!
I have a six speed '05 coupe with some minor mods. The GHLs are great! They don't gurgle at idle like the Borlas; who wants to sound like a ChrisCraft at the dock? They don't resonate, so you can carry on a normal conversation in the cabin under normal driving conditions. But go WOT and they sound fantastic! Not tinny, not like some 17 year old kid with cutouts or a racer wanna be, but a healthy, I mean bussiness, get your butt out of the way, growl that can't be ignored. We've had Vettes in the family since 1960 and this is the best exhaust system I seen. Not the cheapest, just the best.
Good luck and enjoy, Bob.
The Corsa Indy is great if you only want to hear the exhaust when you "get on it". But, if you want some "rumble" even at idle I'd recommend the B&B Bullet or the new (with great looking tips!) SLP Power-flo. I have a DRM 500 383 Stroker with a pretty lumpy cam; I took off my Indy in favor of the SLP because I couldn't hear anything at idle; or at low RPM's (which bty is a rare occurance). Why have a race engine if you can't hear it - that's one reason why I chose this mod over a supercharged stock block. Doesn't anyone else out there like the new SLP Power-flo tip? - aesthetically it seems to work the best with the rear bumper exhaust cut-out area compared to quad or dual pipes.
My father has the SLP's on his modded Z06 with about 480 rwhp, let me just say his car sounds like a nascar beast, a little loud for me, but I agree the look is really cool and unique. I would say I can hear him coming home to his house in the country from about a mile and a half away, trust me I am not exagerating. He owns two Harleys and the SLP's from BB are alot louder. Hearing them when he opens it up does put a true permagrin on your face, but proceed with caution!
