I'm headed to Afcrapistan for 2 months... my question is what do I do with the Vette while I'm gone (Sorry, no you cant borrow it). Any precautions I need to take storing it in my garage other than maybe disconnecting the battery? Thanks!
Keep Safe
Insted of disconnecting the battery you may want to hook it up to a battery tender. Fill it with gas and make sure the tires are filled with the proper PSI (maybe a few lb more) to avoid flat spots.
Pick up a battery tender and park it on 4 pieces of carpet. If you have someone you can trust have them start it once a week or so.
I'm retired mil so I know what you are going through. If I had space in my garage you'd be welcome to it, but I'm full up.
Like I was told in Viet Nam, "Do keep your azz in the grass" and come back sage. Thanks for your service and take out a few for me. I tried to get back in, but they said I could return to do training only. Pissed me off. My son was retired at 22 due to injuries sustained (rangers)so watch your butt. God Bless and take care.
The battery tender advise, full tank, pump up PSI, and carpet pieces are right on. You don't need to do any more. Just want to say how much I respect you guys for going to bat for the entire country! Stay safe and be sure to post as soon as you get back!!!!

wouldn't hurt to put it on jack stands so your RF's don't get a flat spot...
GL and God bless!
Don't do this it will over extend your shocks. Just add some extra air, two months is no big deal. Put the battery on a trickle charger. I stored mine on deployments many times, a box of desiccant on the inside couldn't hurt either. A capfull of gas-stab before filling up also, and a good wash and wax.

Take care of yourself and chime in when you return.
Also add fuel stabilizer (Sta-bil available at W-mart) to gas tank per directions and run engine for 5 mins or so. I do this for my 350 EFI boat engine and do not have problems after summer (that's right summer) layup. Current fuels degrade fairly quickly.
As a retired Navy submariner, I know well that deployments are sometimes longer than planned.

My advice would be the same as others! Stay safe...keep your head down....and hurry back. Thanks for serving as so many others have before you!! The term we used in Vietnam was CYA.....wish you the best!!
