Default SilverStar vs PIAA

To those who have used (or are currently using) either the SilverStar headlamps or those made by PIAA, what are your impressions? I know the PIAA headlamps (9006 low/9005 high) cost almost twice as much as the SilverStars but are they any better? I'm planning on replacing the oem foglights with PIAA's but can't decide what to do about the headlamps. HID's might be in my future, but I'm just looking for something now to replace the woefully inadequate stock headlamps and foglights.

I have not lined up beside someone with the PIAA bulbs to tell the difference but the Silverstars are much better than the stock bulbs. IMO the Silverstars are the best buy you can get untill you get the HIDS.

Personally, I think the Silverstars are a little overrated. I have them, they are whiter but not brighter.

Silverstars may be overrated but PIAA's are overpriced. I run silverstars in my pick up and like them a lot, the vette is next

Default ??? on alignment

I just installed SS and I have to adjust for height.
I know 25" is the rule and the distance from centerline, but what height to set at 25'

Thanks

I have the PIAAs in my pickup and the silverstars in the Vette.
Both better than stock but pretty much the same between the two.

I went this route:

PIAA 1100X DRIVING LAMPS
APC XENON PLASMA HIGH AND LOW BEAM LIGHTS

They work just fine for me....

I had the SS's in my 01 Vert, big improvement over stock. I now have the PIAA's in my 04 Z06 and feel they are better and brighter than the SS's, just my $0.02.

I have the PIAA 9006 on my vette. They are just SLIGHTLY whiter than stock but they are MUCH brighter. They really light up the road!

If you do the 9005 bulb conversion you will be guranteed to have awesome headlights. It is extremely easy to do and is free if you use your stock 9005s.

See the strengths sticky at the top of C5 general and scroll to the lighting links. This mod rocks.
