I received my C6 shifter kit today. Installation was easy except for the fact that my torx screwdrivers were stripped and unusable.

I had to make a run to home depot because you need a #40 torx bit (which is quite large) to remove the 3 bolts, two holding the shifter to the console and 1 connecting the linkage to the shifter.

After all was put back together, I noticed that the shifting action was much smoother and engaging the gears now seem easier and less notchy. The **** fits very well in hand. I cannot say how much shorter the throw is than stock but I think the official GM press release said the C6 shifter throw was 10-15% shorter or something. Shifting feels niiiice.

I have an aftermarket boot so I didnt have to worry about the new **** matching my stock black boot.

That looks like a good mod. I wonder if you could get the leather on the **** matched to the leather on the boot?

My C6 shifter should be here Thursday. I am very excited. I had an aftermarket shifter, but was unhappy with the heavy springs. So hopefully this will be a nice compromise.
