C6 Shifter ****
Just did a shifter swap and would like to know if anyone dyed the C6 shifter **** to the black of the C5?? If so which dye did you use and where did you buy it.

Mike , I tried black shoe dye on a home-made baseball shift **** and that was a waste of time. Next I tried Duplicolor vinyl and upholstery spray paint ($6 a can) and that works GREAT! Covers well and so far pretty durable.

I went to a shoemaker this afternoon. They apparently have a 2 stage process that only works in black and is very durable. I need to check back tomorrow and will forward the details.

The shoemaker told me to leave the **** alone. Vette Essentials can re wrap it for 120.00 in black - not worth it to me although I did buy the short shifter boot from them. Dave, your right! should have listened and went with the BPP or at least tried out the C6 shifter before purchase. Got a hell of a deal though. 199.00 for the shifter and ****.

I don't have pics, but i have the redline boot and it's the perfect shade of black inbetween the console and the shifter. At least it seems to be to me... who knows, maybe I take a picture with a flash and it looks like TCW's...
