Default Cleaning IS important. (pics)

I'm **** about keeping my Z clean. Some people think I go too far when I put it up on jack stands remove the tires and clean my calipers and fender wells. I do that about once a month. At least once a year I like the clean the entire under belly of the car from front to back. I go as far as polishing things that people can't even see.

Why do I do this? You ask. Well let me show you.

And the main reason is to catch any problems like this.

A rear dif. leak. The extended time you spend under the car helps you see potential problems. Well it looks like I'll be making a trip to the shop.

Good to know that some of us are not alone in our joy ... aka "Insanity" or OCD .... depending on who you ask!

Holy Smokes, Batman!

Wow. Well, I simply doff my hat to you. Z06nut, your car is the utterly cleanest and sharpest example of persistent maintenance and "car show ready supreme" clean that I have ever seen in a C5 to date. Love the close up pics you took displaying in clear detail your tenacious efforts. Great job.!Thanks for sharing.

Eden

I'm going to show these pictures to my wife so she can see that I am not quite as obsessive/compulsive as she thinks I am when it comes to cleaning my car and keeping it spotless.

At least I don't think I am obsessive/compulsive...I don't know...lately I can't seem to stop thinking about whether I am or not...gee, I hope not...that means I would have to stop cleaning my car in order to take time off to go to the shrink...

You're not alone. I take my tires and wheels off about 2-3 times per year and really clean the area. The underside gets detailed every time I wash the car. I'd say you are pretty normal when it comes to keeping the car clean. Love the way your fuel tank shields came out. I can see another project for me this winter.

Dude, how do clean the inside of your motor? There's oil in it!

Wish I could keep mine clean like yours!

Don't worry because your not alone. I'm the same way. I drive my Vette everyday to work/school/around town. If i had my way it would get washed and waxed daily. Nothing feels better to me that having/looking at/driving a clean Vette. Keep up the good work!

I clean top and bottom and spend hours making it look new.... Keeping it out of the rain is my biggest challenge....

Z06Nut...

AWESOME!!

I love a car that clean!!

I'm **** and take the wheels off to clean but not once a month... Of course, there are months I don't even drive my Vette, let alone clean it...

I did change oil the other night and was thinking I need to do a better job of cleaning underneath...

My car looks like it's NEVER been cleaned compared to yours...

WOW!! Very nice job on your baby!!

You're not nuts, you're simply the "God of detailing..."

I bow to thee!!

I don't think it's insanity at all. If anything, I think cleaning my car helps keep me sane.
