Bright light's from behind
This sounds intentional, bright lights (high beams) and tailgating. probably wants to see if you have an exhaust plate or if you got the dirt off of your tail pipes.
If someone is riding your bumper with his high beams on, whether you are at fault (hogging the left lane perhaps?) or not, it's been my experience that it's best to let him pass. He's now gone, you still are driving your Corvette and zero stress. Again, don't misunderstand me here. I am an aggressive driver myself and more often than not, I am the one doing the passing. However on the rare occasion when I am in the left lane doing over the limit and someone is traveling faster than me and flashing me, I pull over and get out of his way the same way I would expect someone to get out of mine when I flash them. Wuss? I don't think so. Smart? ummm perhaps. : )

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

In fact, I think it was in Miami!
Probably the best car action since Bullitt!
My personal worst was about 15-16 years ago when I still had some testosterone left, and a tailgater pulled up on me in lane 2 of 3 on a surface street w/45 mph limit. No other cars around and I had just come from a bad real estate deal and was p*ssed.
At that time I drove a Lincoln Mk7 (full wheel/tire/suspension mods, 3.73, heads/cam, Vortech 12 psi, 4000 stall, a genuine HR Lincoln), I downshifted to 1st, threw a hard left (lane change) stabbed the brake hard (4 wheel discs) and floored it, in one second I was in his left blind spot-hard right-almost clipping his rear bumper as it shifted to 2nd, now I'm in his right blind spot and moving at least 20-25 mph faster-pass him, hard left, stab it and we're the same as we were!
About 6 seconds of blurred black Lincoln with flowmasters roaring and I'm 3 feet in front of him letting it decelerate in 2nd. He leaps on his brake and swerves over to a side street and gone!
Now that's the damn stupidest dumbass thing I've ever done in my conservative life-but it sure felt great!
But what If I had clipped him and we all got hurt!
May the BOOST be with you!
Roy
Never did it again (no more testosterone)-but sometimes here in LA...
..rickko..

As for following too close , just move over if you can ... or drop the hammer and shrink the POS behind you.

I could of easily left'em in the dust, But I could'nt because the state police frequent this stretch of road. I let them have their fun untill the next exit. How does everyone handle this type of situation?
Edit, just saw this post:
