To tell the truth, I like the leather one too. I've got the VE boot and **** on my car. I have the aluminum shift quadrant on top of the stock ****, that goes with my aluminum rings on the gauges.
Living in a HOT climate like Florida or Arizona like we do, would make the shifter too hot to touch.
I realize that you have the A4 and I have an MN6 - so it's slightly different applications. JMHO......
The question is - Do you like it? That's really the only opinion that counts!

id rather stick to the stock leather one...my ford ranger had one of those old school T-shifters on it when we got it...it felt good while driving but it sure did look ugly...so i put the stock one on again....personal preferance i guess

...and since I pouring concrete around the building...I can even get the vette out of the garage now...
