New C5 'Vette owner. The car looks great, except for the naked tips coming out the back end. I've looked a bit and have found different tips ranging anywhere from $89 to over $300 dollars. Anyone out there have an opinion on which tips are best. I want the stock look and do not really see any advantage to spending 3-4 times as much for the same material in a different box.
I think most people customize their tips when they upgrade to a cat-back system.
Most people like my big, round, chrome Borla's. If I had to change them soon, I would probably go with the lightest system I could find (2 tips instead of 4) to save weight at the track.
Look at our vendors, like MidAmerica and Ecklers. They have an array to peruse, even if you don't buy there. Watch our C5 parts section, because exhaust parts come up fairly freq.
I wasn't ready to spend a grand on a new exhaust system but I wanted a change to the stock exhaust look. I put the Corsa tips over my stock tips. Cost around $115. Installed easy. Big improvement for fairly small $s.
I Bought a set of screw on tips for $99.00 from Eklers for my stock 2000 and after about 1000 miles, one of the welds failed and I lost one. I found a set of GM original oval tips from a vendor on ebay and the buy it now price was $69.99 plus $9.00 or $10.00 shipping.
They came with JB weld and have held up great for over 12000 miles. Go to corvette exhaust tips and scroll down 5 lines. You don't have to bid just call the # (248-681-4336) Here's a pic..............

Thanks!
I have a brand new set of tips. They are the stock variety tips and in my opinion the best looking ones if you want the stock look.
I used them on my car for about 3 weeks then broke down and layed out the big bucks for the magnaflow system.
paid 89 bucks for em.
20 bucks to me.............20 bucks to the St Judes fundation that this forum supports, and they're yours.
I need a replacement filter for my vararam system which is about 40 bucks. I'll kick in the other 20 for the filter, st judes gets a 20 spot, you get a new set of tips, and I get a filter.........we've both done something decent. Everyones happy.

Those look great. I have the center piece as well in all chrome. It came with the car but not attached. Any advice on what to secure it with? It looks like you just glue or tape it on, but with what...that will stay??? Thanks for the exhaust tip advice, YB!

Great info, folks! Thanks!! Now I'm already thinking twice about spending the coin for just the tips and going for a cat-back system. Does the C5 pick up much rwhp from this swap? Best brands? Oh, and I have recently moved to CA so whatever I do needs to still be able to pass smog inspections (unless, of course, I'm willing to put my stock exhaust back on for 1 day every two years to pass, which does not sound enticing)
