Default Brake caliper paint color - opinions please

Thinking of painting the paint calipers. Most would go with red and I've seen plenty of blue (Electron, Navy Blue) with red calipers. I've also seen a few pictures of people with highly polished calipers.

Any advice on color choices? I was also thinking about doing caliper color similar to Lemans Blue to match the car?

Ron

Or because it stands out the most and is very noticable. The blue would look good, but not as many people will notice. That is the reason you are painting them right? To show them off. I say go with a bright color

Besides it would be easier than trying to match the blue. Don't know if you can get high temp Lemans Blue paint over the counter.

I haven't tackled this mod yet, but I hear that you should make sure to get HIGH TEMP paint. Rustoleum works very well from what i'm told

Edit: Too quick for me jawzforlife

I have a Navy blue metallic coupe and went with a hight heat cast iron gray on the calipers. I think it adds a rather subtle look and goes well with the gray interior and dark gray wheel lug caps.

I have recently bought my 1st C5 which is black. I like to keep things simple. I plan on painting the calipers black and the letters red. I also plan on buying a 'rotor hub cover' from Ecklers which is gloss black. I only the stock rotors and will keep them for a while....too many other things I want first.

I'd recommend the red. Sure would look good with the blue.

I've not done the mod yet but i think I will at some stage.

I think it depends on the color of the car although red seems to look good with most.

With my Mag Red I would probably go with black.

You should get plenty of examples from other members.

BTW, DanDman, the yellow highlight looks awesome.

Was trying to come up with something other than red myself until I got the new Corvette Fever(8/9/05) and saw the article on the 06 Zo6 with those beautiful wheels and RED Calipers.
Bought the red kit @ Wall Mart last nite
