Mine locked up 3 times. I just got the CLB on Friday and will be installing it this week. My car has been in twice by the previous owner for the recall. GM should be paying me T&M to fix their screw up.
If you have an Automatic and have the recall done, how can it still lock up if they change the locking plate in the steering colum?
For me the dealer didn't remove the locking plate. They did the PCM flash and something else. I had the records pulled on my VIN and found out the previous owner sent the car in to get it fixed. I will be installing the CLB this week.
My '98 coupe (A4) locked with 2 days left on the warranty, and GM acted like an as*hole about it. Wanted to tow it to a small town GM dealership that has never worked on a vette before. I asked to have it towed to a large dealership closer to my home (about 45 miles up the road) GM told me that if I had more time left on my warranty they would do it, but since my warranty ran out in 48 hrs. I had to take it to the closest dealer. Needless to say I paid to have it towed to the larger dealer....Then my '01 vert (MN6) locked up in my garage, had to have it towed- Luckily I had more than 48 hrs left on the warranty- Now the '04 coupe (MN6) that I just bought already has the by pass on it....GM is just going to the dogs, and if they keep it up then maybe Toyota will buy them after all and bring back customer service.
