mine doesnt work anymore either.. just like u it will only hold its memory for 30 sec, i think the only solution is to get a new one. I heard of someone finding out why, but i think sauldering was required...

I just had the same problem recently & the dealership told me that it was because I had a 97-99 fob & a 00 fob & that they were cancelling each other out. 
They couldn't explain why they'd both worked fine for three years though. They reprogrammed the 00 fob & when I went to pick her up yesterday I made the service writer show me that it did indeed work. He pointed it at the car &....... Nothing happened. I was
