Unfortanely, I`m stuck at work as of 5:05 CST. Drove my car in to
tidy up some work and got ready to leave and my "Service Column Lock"
light came on. It told me to wait 10 second and restart the car. Did it
and I`m still here. I thought some where, in the archives there`s an article on how to temporaily bypass the code, so I can get this recall done all over again.
If so...can anyone post it "Immediately!!"
Thanks You....

lacking that, turn key to on, and yank wheel like hell to the right and it should break free
I have successfully cleared a column lock both by applying pressure to the wheel while turning the key as well as yanking violently side to side prior to turning the key. Good luck with your situation.
Well I didn`t really say that, But I thought since I took it to the dealership for a non related problem and they look at my past services and said it was a recall my column lock. Well i thought if this was the case like so many other Vette owners they would have this all figure out. Now I have to call a tow truck and tow it home then see the dealer when they feel they can get me in to refix this recall. I pretty much tried everything and like I said earlier in the post, my fuel keeps shutting off! Otherwise the steering wheel turns... Bum the F**k out!

Don't worry, it will be better soon
FWIW, I had the recall done, and STILL had the dreaded messege "service column lock" come acroos the DIC So hang in there. Just because the recall was done, it CAN still strand you
Just wanted to say "Thank You" for all who had reply and tried to help me with this situation.
Guess I have to have it towed home Sunday morning and do some serious studying on what CBL to get. This is totally for a car company whom have heard numberous compliants about their products and have not tried to rectify their issues. If this is what I`m expected to go through with the Corvette line of products, then I feel it is not worth it to have the prestige of owing a Corvette.
The wheels turns but when I put it in drive the gas shuts off!
You had that stupid recall done didn't you? That's about all it does for the M6. If you get any problem with the c-lock it insures you can't drive by disabling the fuel sys. That's why I'm not getting that recall done.
You did not say if you had a manual or automatic.
Since you said your column is not locked, it makes me think you have an automatic, and the recall involves a Harness K where the relay in the harness has failed causing the BCM to shut off the fuel. (part of the recall is to remove the lockplate, so the column cannot physically lock)
The only way your column would not lock on a 6 speed would be if the actuator was stuck in the unlocked position, in which case I would think that the BCM would not shut off the fuel.
