Default Mad as Hell while changing Air filter

Hi

I was just in my garage changing the air filter on my 03 vert and when i was closing up the latches one of the eyes the latch goes in snaped off. I was really pissed I was still able to close it by closing the other side and using the wire cable on the broken side. I just ran the wire into the leftover eye and it worked ok.

I need some expert advise I am sure it is ok for now the way it is but i would like to get a new one eventually.

Should I get another stock one or go with something high flow and what are the options and costs

thanks

Well, I'm no expert but if it was me.. see my other post http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...0&forum_id=103 I would get another stock one. Sucks that broke. I did mine and no problem at all. Sounds like you have a fix for now.

Perfect opportunity to open up the intake with an aftermarket unit. I have a Blackwing on mine - cost was about $200 when I got it (at Bloomington Gold several years ago). You can find them on special every now and then from forum vendors for around $220, or you can try and pick one up on the C5 Parts for Sale section.

Hey, I just put a vararam on my vette and have the stock parts to the entire airbox and the little metal parts that hold it in place that you snapped off.

I'll give you mine. PM me.
I'll probably just sell my airbox since it's the upgraded one with the hole in the center like the Z06.

All you need are the latches right??

Blackwing for me. If you want to go stock that's too.

You might want ask Joshvettes about the entire Z06 airbox, it fits like stock and is a nice upgrade.
