I've been contemplating trading up for a c6 or z06. Kinda leaning more with the "king of the hill," as I still love the C5 lines. Came across 2 local ads off the net: 2003 and 2004. The 03 is yellow with grey interior. I tried searching the forum and could not come up with any pics, was wondering if anyone had access or pics of this colour combo? look good? I was partial with having black or black/ red interior, but wanna see 1st hand how much a diff this made. BTW the 2004 was black on black

thanks in advance!!
My 2004 is black on black. The others look good, but black was first choice. I had admiral blue before and black required no more work than it did.
There were apparently a few changes made during the 2003 Z 06 production year that could interest you, but if the C6 appeals and you want to travel much I would seriously consider it. The Z is a poor bad weather car and I worry about getting stranded during a bad storm. My C4 was much better and the C6 may be as well.

Here's a for the Black over Black Z06. I've had mine for a year now and absolutely love it. It has brutish acceleration and incredible handling capabilities. I too prefer the C5 lines over the C6. The Z06 represents an incredible performance package that you will never be able to fully tap on the street...but you sure will have fun getting on the freeway!
I did a WOT run for a friend who also has a Z06 just the other day. We did a G Tech comparison run in both cars and he told me that he could hardly keep his arm extended toward the GTech while I was accelerating! It was a blast!

Hey Charles- please tell me more- what have you experienced in bad weather with your Z-06?? About to head into my first rainy winter with my Z-06. Are you referring to lots of power on a wet road getting out of hand??? Stranded? Like something electrical getting wet?? Or snow? Thanks!

I'm worried about hydroplaning, not based on personal experiences, but what a few forum members have said. With my C4 I didn't slow down in the rain unless my visibility was affected. But I'm afraid that the Z may be much worse. I don't want to find out the hard way.
As far as snow and ice, last winter there were two days where the snow was packed down about an inch thick in my apartment drive. I made it to the end of the drive before getting stuck and had to be pushed back to my space.

For what it is worth...I've been through one rainy season here in the SF Bay Area of CA and had no problems at all, other than my car getting dirty, of course.
I found my Z06 to be very stable in the wet conditions, and I still have the stock Goodyears on, which I've heard complained about so often regarding their wet traction ability. I think the AH and TC also help out a great deal.
Granted, you can't get crazy and much use common sense as you would in any other car, but I found the Z to be as capable in the rain as any other car I have owned or driven in the rain and more so than some.
I've driven my Z in rain, sleet and some minor snow. As long as you respect nature and physics you'll be OK. But if you insist on blasting through puddles of standing water or taking a blind wet corner at speed your asking for trouble - in any car.

PS: I drove the Z home to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving and the temps got down to 20 degrees and there was a coating of frost on the streets. I had no difficulty, but than I wasn't playing hero either.
