MOD RED stands for "Modified Red". It is (was) a no-cost option only available on the Z06 (black being the other choice). From the production numbers I've seen, less than 20% of Z's have this option.
Here's mine... which is actually "modified" Mod Red - I added more red accents. Factory Mod Red included the lower door panels, lower dash pieces, and seats.
Mod Red is the interior with red trim. I love it but I do nto have any good pics... Here is the best I can do for now, and the doors have red as well as the bottom of the dash on both sides.

PS this was @ CAM getting tunned by Jeff
I'm in the market for a Z
Can't seem to decide what color I want... I'm torn between MY/Blk and QS/MR... I found these pics of a QS/MR elsewhere on the site...
I would love to see more pics of the QS/MR's out there!!!
If you've got the car, could I please see pics of it from further away? Whole car with door open, closed, through windshield, through rear glass, etc...
And for us folks with the all black interior her's my mod Black interior :
No doubt MOD RED is hot. I re did the all black base interior on my 99 AW coupe and it was a head turner especially considering this is the classic vette color combination of all time:
Cost me right at $900 to add Sport Seats (OEM cushions and hides) so I opted to change the color while I was at it.
Notice the difference in E-Brake boots. I have VE boots on my Z and only the short shifter on my 99, the e-brake boot was the OEM POS I hadn't changed out yet.

So you have Sport seats in your Z now.. and they are red!!?!? That is bad ***!! only $900 to do that?! Or am I mistaken!.. I love the red seats... Who, what, when, where, how?
i have a quicksilver/mod red Z, and let me tell you, the mod red does have to grow on you, it took all of 2.7 seconds for it to grow on me. its totally sexy and looks OUTSTANDING with the QS car.

No you mis read my post, I had the base seats in my 99 coupe and converted them to Sport Seats. I bought the Sport Seat upgrade chshions from VE for $250 and the OEM hides from our very own Fichtner Chevrolet for around $550, I also added the TR OEM floor mats and a VE short shifter boot. I also had to buy a Hog Ring pliers and some Hog rings so I figured the cost at $900. Took me and a friend about 6 hours to do. I'll attached a few few photo's to show you the process:
Before - Base Seats
Box Of Goodies:
Seat striped down to frame (all seat frames are the same basically Sport Seat Frames) I added some door edge protectors to help keep the frame from wearing through the new foam. Tip from a local custom auto upholster.
Then you slip on the FELT booties VE provides, also helps with the premature bolster wear and firms and tightens up te bolster area a bit. Remember I'm not installing the bladders or motors.
Trial fit of new cushions and hides
6 hours later the completed project
And one more
So there you have a $900 base seat to Sport Seat conversion. Too bad the Sport Seats didn't have a MOD RED option.
I've thought about re-doing the seats in my Z but I know I'll be buying a C6 soon.
Not me. I thought it was awesome the first time I saw it. All black just doesn't get 'er done for me
I went to look at one with all black with a friend/forum member. The first thing He said was how much nicer the black/red combo was compared to standard black. Don't get me wrong....all black is nice, to some of us, mod red is N I C E R!!!
