a ls2 (c-6) has a 4 inch bore, which lends it self to easy mods.

Man, if that's the case, then GM were cheap as $hit with my vert... What were they thinking giving me a Z06 gas cap... I need to go write a letter...

As for the Z06 vs. C5 dilemma, get a convertible and mod it... You'll never regret it!

I agree!!! I've done a good round of bolt-ons, and my car dyno's in stock LS2/LS6 territory. It's a vert and will never be a Z06, but I like top down cruising.

It's really all about whatever turns you on.

wow! you guys came out in force. thanks alot for the honest opinions. seems like the popular vote is to get the c5 non z06 and modify from there.

i'm hoping to find a cammed non z06 c5 on this forum that is a good buy or even on ebay. can anybody point me in the right direction? there are so many cars in the classifieds section here and i don't have much to go on. would it be wrong for me to come on here and ask the history of the cars based on the forum members threads? i guess it would be nicer of me to just do an advanced search w/their username as the keyword.

Don't quite know what that means, but my 97 coupe had a place to put the cap while you filled up, as opposed to that little hook for the cord... I think you were trying to be sarcastic.. but your not good at it... a simple "thats the same as mine" would suffice.. but the 97's I know had something besides the cheap *** hook...

My recommendation would be to go with the coupe/vert and mod it to the level you want.
