[Z06] E-Brake Problem

E-Brake Problem
I never leave the car parked in first gear.. unless on a hill. I usually leave it in neutral, and have the E-brake on. Well, recently when I park, I pull the E-brake, and when getting out of the car, there is a loud pop followed by the E-brake dropping and resulting in the car to roll. Has this happened to anyone else?
