Default Two Post Lift?

Anybody have one of these?

This one's made by Eagle equipment.

I like the idea of lifting on the pucks instead of driving up on the other 4-post style lifts.

Seems to me that you can work on anything with one of these..

Any experience or recommendations?

I use Rotary lifts everyday great, quiet and reliable,Eagles aren't bad at all. When I build a big enough garage at home I will be buying an Eagle.STAY AWAY from MOHAWK LIFTS!!! (IMHO)

The 2 post lift is great for service lets you work on wheels etc without extra jack from 4 post. The benifit to a lot of us is most 4 post allow you to store vehicle on top out of the way of bicycles, childrens toys, and wives. The 4 post also allows you to park extra vehicle under if your height allows.

I don't like the fact that your suspension is fully extended with the 2 Post lift. Especially if your storing the car for long periods of time.
here is my 4 Post Rotary Lift.

Do you need to check concrete thickness/strength with a two post lift?

Yes. Minimum of 4" 3000psi grade concrete. I had the guy doing the foundation do 6" thick in the bay that has the lift to be extra secure. The posts are secured to the concrete using 3/4" expanding fasteners that have to be a minimum of 6" away from an edge or expansion joint.
Mine is a Bend Pak, had it for over a year and a half with cars on it all the time. No problems what-so-ever!

From what I've heard on this forum, C4's don't fair well but C5's shouldn't have a problem. I have used mine for increasing the capacity of my garage from 4 cars to 5, but not for extended periods of time.
It won't bother the lift, I guess the rest is personal preference.

A friend and I own a commercial Rotary two-post asymmetrical Lift together and love it. I think you will find the two-post to be a much more versatile lift if you don't have the need to store another car or other things above/below. I would recommend however that you first check the installation requirements and insure the concrete pad where you plan on installing the lift meets the necessary requirements. Requirements will vary based on the capacity of the lift. Good luck with the lift.

Mohawk quoted me $ 4750 from the VP of sales in Albany I can't find a Rotary dealer/installer. I was looking at $ 2400 or so for the Eagle.
Bye Bye Mohawk. Corvette/musclecar barn is almost ready for the new lift!
