kind of new here, just got my second zo6 about three months ago and the first thing i did was lower it by taking the bolts out up front and lowering it as far as it would on the stock bolts out back. now all of the sudden every time i hit a bump or turning while going up a incline i hear a popping noise. it also happens every time i go to take off. any advice would be geatly appreciated. thanks
It is your spring bumping against the front a-arm. Mine made a funky noise at first with no bolt. I then took a thin piece of rubber and put it under the spring to act as an isolator....noises ALL GONE! others have done this as well...
I dont know if its the same sound, but my -02 also makes a tinny clanking when I turn out of driveway (2 mph) in morning too. It also is lowered. It comes from the rear wheel area. Mostly notice it when cold (not cold as in wintertime cold but not at operating temps). Chevy has found nothing visible.
I am not having this problem and I am not sure if this is your issue.I used to drive an S2000,before I bought my Zo6.Those cars had a lot of driveline problems (alot of people modded their engines and changed the gearing)and on a regular basis people on the S2k forum, were complaining of clicking and popping coming from the rear of the car.It usually meant that something related to the Limited slip differential was happening. The condition presented itself if you were in turns or doing figure 8 's.It meant it was time to change you differential oil and or the differential needed attention. One reason I say I am not sure if this is on the right track is that a Corvette is not anythig like the Honda, however I recognize the symptom of clicking and popping coming from the rear of the car .
