Anybody have any experience using Shell V-Power? I recently puchased my first Corvette and I've been using it with good results. So far, so good...:
In Southeastern Michigan, Shell V-Power is A-OK. Switched to it last year when Amoco Ultimate submarined my gas gauge. Gas gauge has been working fine ever since!
I have used Shell V-Power almost exclusively since it was introduced in all my cars including my '88Vert and my '01 Vert. No problems of any sort in the cars. My '01 gas gauge has never had a problems and i don't used extra additives except for Valvoline Synpower Fuel system cleaner in the spring and Stabil for winter storage.
BJ's cheap gas killed my fuel gauge sender. Since the replacement sender and re-programming the car only gets V-Power and all is good. I would alternate with Chevron if it were available around here.
I have been using Sunoco 93 and tried a couple of tanks of V-1. Around here the V-1 is about $0.18/gal more, and since I didn't notice if my 98 had a preferred taste, I went back to Sunoco.
