Well it came in the mail today and I figure how long would it take. Well it took about 2 hours. That includes running to NAPA not just once, but 2 times during the project. first I needed to get a quick splice and the second time I needed 18 guage wire.
Before any asks I don't have pics (my wife took the digital to the beach with her ). I did used these instructions
which were not bad except it did not tell you about the materials needed upfront. The only tricky part of the whole install is making sure you get the right wire from the PCM. probably someone will chime in now saying why didn't you tap off another wire - but too late it is done and it works. Right now I have it set at 3500 rpms just to see it go off, but I figure 6500 is where it will end up.
BTW - here is what it looks like - in someone elses car

I did my raptor wed it took about an hour it's great tonite was the 1st time that a saw it at night and I thought someone took a picture of me as I was driving . it's the best bang for the buck as far as shift lights very easy to install hot, ground, and white wire under dash and -Vern
From: Alhambra Calismognazifornia, in the country everyone comes just to complain but won't go back home!
i mounted mine in the top corner (like the pic in your first post) using double sided tape and just after a few days it fell off due to heat messing up the adhesive. i tried a different type, much stronger, tape and the same thing happened after just a few days. then i went to an industrial strength velcro. that has lasted over a year but in the hotter months the adhesive still gets soft and slides so that the light is pointing more down than horizontal. anyone had any better ways to mount? do i have to drilll?

Thats
I guess that is something you MN6 people need so you know if/when you should shift. Does it tell you which gear to go to so you don't get all mixed up?

Yeah, you either need to have a multimeter you can probe with or just do what I did and take a shot in the dark at the white wires in the bundle and hope you hit the right one on the first shot. I was lucky and did but I tapped the harness just above the BCM.
