It is just not the kids, I see it with the adults here in Chicago when I walk to work every day.

Oh, I see......you whistle a different tune since you moved from Northern to Southern Jersey. There are no crosswalks, hell....you don't even have sidewalks, the only traffic signal is by the Wa-Wa. You send Marc for your chocolate milk because you forgot what the red, yellow and green lights mean. Which light is on the top? green, yellow or red?
Don't ask Doug.......you should know this.

I can't tell you how many jaywalkers I've almost dusted down in the loop. It't the worst around city halll and the Thompson Center. Yikes!

My observation is in retail store, strip centers, parking lots. People, of any age, will step off of the sidewalk and out into the drive without looking assuming that they have the right of way and that you have to stop for them.

yesterday on my daily bike ride down the bike trail I saw a kid turn around onto the street without looking. A big Blazer (I mean big - one of those 80s one) had to slam on the brakes. The kid barely looked back.

There used to be a "crew" from a neighboring tenant in my office building that would intentionally walk across the lot when they'd see any car coming......one time I had too much of it and downshifted to first and watched em scatter.

I had someone do the same to me a couple of nights ago....had to put the Vette up on the curb rather than have a new hood ornament....sad.

This is also not the first time this has happened. A few weeks back some kids just standing in the road would not move out of the way.

I hope they out grow this otherwise the future is looking very dim (witted)....
Dont you wish you could just get really close to tagging them to scare the hell out of them? That type of thing bugs me too. If they had any respect at all they would hurry up and cross or wait till you pass.

It's called the downward slide in our society. When I started high school, jeans were not allowed....collared shirts were mandatory....hair was not allowed below the collar, etc. Straight downhill from there.

Who's driving the American Dream and who's walking??? CASE CLOSED!!!
A lot of young people are fairly stupid, but the real problem is they don't realize they are stupid. They haven't been through the bumps of life yet.

These are the same jerks that would key your vette if it was parked and unattended.
