Problems with 6th gear

My mother-in-law has the 50th Anniversary and the other day when on the highway she shifted into 6th and the engine shut down. Chevy checked out the car and said that it was fine, but she's afraid that it will happen again. Has anyone had that same problem or know what could cause that????

Check to see if it threw some codes. I don't know why 6th would shut the engine down versus other gears. Strange indeed.

Take it out for a drive and try and duplicate the problem. Hopefully the only problem you'll have is getting the

off your face!!

I can't help you with the code issue, but I'm having a tough time getting past the first line. Let me get this stright: You have a mother in law that drives a stick-shift Corvette?!?

Man, she could go a long way toward fixing the reputaiton of MILs..
