Default Tire Pressure Sensor Question...

What is involved in adding tire pressure sensors to a 2004 Zo6.Is it just adding sensors to Zo6 wheels and programming the system,or am I looking at something more involved?I don't plan on using EMT's(if that makes a difference).Thankyou in advance for your information

yes, add the late model sensors and use a Tech II tool to toggle on the tire pressure option that already exists in the computer

there's a thread somewhere that gives a step by step how-to on using the Tech II tool

I added the LTPS to my 03. Total cost came to about $360. I printed out these instructions and gave them to my local Cheby dealer.

I believe this is a great safety feature for non run-flat equipped cars. I'll have some advance warning and should be able to quickly find a safe place to deal with a flat. I also bought a spare sensor in case I opt to use the goop to get me out of harms way. I'd rather do that than have to wait for a tow and on a late Sat where are they going to tow you?

Need to have the dealer program it with a Tech II (the first time). You can reprogram them once the program has been turned on. Mine didn't know how to do it at first but went online and then made it happen. Took 10 minutes but they charge you for an hours time usually. Watch the forum for lower cost sensors, if you buy them from a dealer be sure to also order the nuts you will need to attach them. Good Luck

Do a forum search! Many people have already done this, including me. It's been talked about like a million times.

Follow the "parts for sale" forum- you'll see 4 for around $100. JUmp on them quick because they last for about a minute.

Are used sensors reliable.I am from Canada and tried a few vendors here selling new product at very reasonable prices,I 'd rather buy new rather than chance buying a used one with no life...None of the GM Vendors here on the forum ship to Canada,$200.00(Cdn) for each sensor and nut
at my local dealer.I am sure Someone has a set of new sensors not being used.If so give me a PM.I am hoping to save a bit of money because it's not worth doing the MOD if it's going to cost $800.oo CDN(Know what I mean ,EH!)
