Today was a beautiful day in northern NJ and the Class Glass Corvette club was having thier annual show. I asked my wife if she wanted to go, she said sure, so I took the C5 out of the garage and drove it down. It was a really nice small show with about 55 cars, all vintages, a couple of museum like 54, 55, a couple of 58's and 59's. A bunch of C3's, 4's, and 5's. And a couple of C6's. As we were leaving and I pulled onto Rt17 from the parking lot and going up to speed I saw in my rear view mirror a nice C6 vert pacing me. I got to speed and cruised along in the middle lane. About 15 seconds along the C6 comes by me in the fast lane going about 65mph to my 55mph. As I looked over and gave him the wave he looks at me and gives my the thumbs down. Even my wife remarked he was a 'low-life'. I laughed at him and waved to him from behind. About a mile up the road he was slowed in the 'off lane' and as I went by, he looked at us, my wife pointed at him, and put her thumb and index finger about 1" apart and showed it to him. He was like, , I was like, . I've gotten waves from some C6's, mostly they just don't notice or understand what I'm doing, but this has been the 3rd time this has happened to me and one reason I won't buy a C6. I don't like the way they look anyway. The rear end looks like 'bucky beaver' with nuts in his cheeks walking backwards. I still maintain they are NOT a better car than a C5, any more than a C5 is a better car than a C2 or 3, just a different vintage. What gives with these morons?

Nice comeback...there is something about the c6 that draws the unique corvette owner who feels better than the rest (usually a first corvette owner). They feel they can intimidate because they have a newer car ...they think were envious or something???...Boy, they are wrong...

Pardon me, bub, but I'm a "first corvette owner" and don't appreciate your comment. FYI, I am very pleased to have finally fulfilled my dream and I wave to every Vette of every year, every time I see one. Most don't wave back. Go figure? Don't be so quick to throw someone in a bucket and label them. That having been said... Dan

You tell 'em Dan! I too am a "first Corvette owner" and I don't wave at anyone except with one finger!
j/k!
A large percentage - certainly not all - of the C6 owners are individuals unfamiliar with the traditions and fraternity of Corvette ownership. I've said it here before as have many others - there are Corvette owners and then there are Corvette drivers - the ***** that gave you was a driver!
Here's a from a first time 'Vette owner(C4)...aswell as a. I wave at every Corvette that I see. You should really post this in the C6 section aswell and see what they have to say.

Sorry for any misunderstanding...i too am a first vette owner...i was referring to those who collect the vettes purely as a status symbol...rare breed, but disturbing none the less. no harm intended...i wouldn't dream of labeling anyone without meeting them first...i am only saying that not all vette owners love their car as much as we do...
