If you're having trouble going from 1st to 2nd; make sure the 1 to 4 skip shift is not your problem. If you have already disabled this feature and are still having troubles going from 1st to 2nd. I would first take it to the shop and have the tranny looked at before you install an aftermarket shifter. Because once you put the new shifter in there and you encounter the same trouble the shop will claim it's due to the aftermarket shifter and won't look at it. Then you'll be back at square one.

I have used both the B&M and the Hurst shifters and I think the Hurst is a better unit. Due to its construction and it also allows you to change the springs depending on how much effort you want to put into shifting the car. Some prefer a very light shift and others like more resistance. The B&M does give you this adjustment.

Hey Brian,

Thought when we talked last you loved your shifter. Actually put it on my list of things I want. I would like a different shifter so any ideas???

Get it! You'll love it, just make the springs softer. It's easy.
