Default Stock Shocks...

Just picked up my "new" 98 today..
The stock shocks put in regular Chevy's seem to get worn pretty quick..Anybody have a comment?? Are Vettes any different, and if so..whats it cost to get decent replacements?
I've got 27,000 on this now..

Thx

Default shocks

depends on what you want.the stockers are fine for me.I also had my car lowered on the stock bolts(1" or so)and the handling is better now.you'll be fine for a while.I think MOD FEVER is setting in after what,1 day of ownership?? you're in trouble now!! congrats on the new to you vette!

A lot of people are replacing stock shocks with 04 Z06 shocks. It's not rediculously expensive and a great compromise between comfort and performance. I hope to be doing it very soon. The handling on my Vette seems to be going south.

I've got 29K on mine now and the car is 5 years old. The shocks are holding up just fine. If you want to replace them, many go with the Z06 shocks - you can get them for about $350 shipped.

Quit looking and just buy them..Get the Bilstein Sports....the regular Bisteins are similar to OEM damping, Everyone who has them loves them, and even if they were happy before the change, I know of none who would trade them back for mushy stockers.

Have the Z06 shocks and sways on mine, vast handling improvment.
