There was a red 1 at Carlisle this year as well as 1 company that does them. I visited their tent and and it was interesting to hear that either 30 or 40 brand new cars were shipped to them for redoing. They were very particular about getting new cars and they stated they did not want to be known as a car rebuilder, such as when dealing with used cars or wrecks. As for the body, the only C5 parts used are the doors.

I do not think they are that rare. A guy in my club has one, not my cup of tea, but to each his/her own.

Mike Yeager, the guy that owns Mid-America Parts is shown in one, like he owns one... In the catalog I thought.. but now when I look, I don't see it... I'm sure it's there somewhere!!

TR of course... but it is different... I guess if you have the cash...

There are a few here as well, saw a black one yesterday! It looks like it is well done , some conversions are of really poor quality.

I don't like them at all. Reminds me of a kit where they combine an 85 Linclon Town with Chitty Chitty bang bang.

There was one in the same tent as Ken King and it was awesome. That's what the 50th anniversary car should have looked like,IMO.

I've seen 'em.. and they're OK.

There is another company that does a 61/62 (forget which exactly) style body which looks 100% better on a C5. But I still would rather spend that kind of cash on restoring my beat up old Triumph and getting a ZR1.

You can get one from this company. http://www.aatcars.com/

They are nice cars, C5's with a retro look. You either like them or you don't but they are still C5's.

But they certainly do turn a lot of heads.
