There was a red 1 at Carlisle this year as well as 1 company that does them. I visited their tent and and it was interesting to hear that either 30 or 40 brand new cars were shipped to them for redoing. They were very particular about getting new cars and they stated they did not want to be known as a car rebuilder, such as when dealing with used cars or wrecks. As for the body, the only C5 parts used are the doors.
Mike Yeager, the guy that owns Mid-America Parts is shown in one, like he owns one... In the catalog I thought.. but now when I look, I don't see it... I'm sure it's there somewhere!!
TR of course... but it is different... I guess if you have the cash...
There is another company that does a 61/62 (forget which exactly) style body which looks 100% better on a C5. But I still would rather spend that kind of cash on restoring my beat up old Triumph and getting a ZR1.
The company that does the conversions is call Advanced Automotive Technologies, in Rochester Hills Michigan. Give them your C5 Convertible, plus $32,500, and they will make your C5 look like a 1953. They have a website, but I don't remember the rules about linking to a site.
