Default New 505As How do I fix a leaking sensor

I had new 505As installed last Saturday. Today I noticed the right front tire was flat (2000 garage queen). I used Lowes #9 O-ring seals because John at CCW recommended a fatter O-ring than the GM part. Since the Lowes O-ring appeared to be fatter I decided to go with them. The other three tires are fine. Should I apply a little Vaseline on another new O-ring and try again? I put the others in dry but I thought a little lubricant might help the seal. Also, I torqued them to 106 inch pounds like everyone has recommended. Does anyone have any other advice? I'm puzzled that it is losing air. I thought I had done everything right.

Need help.

Default leaking tire

Are you sure it's the sensor? Could it be the tire or wheel?

Get a trough and set the tire in the trough to be certain of the location of the leak...
...you may not get a stream of bubbles but you will get a lone bubble somewhere on the front or back near the rim or elsehwhere on the tire...

I have been having the same problem with the right rear tire on my '01. I found that the O-ring, when I put the aftermarket valve cap on, was pressing the valve stem to the side, and allowing air to escape slowly.

I removed the O-ring totally, and adjusted the valve stem until I could no longer hear air escaping.

I haven't had a problem since, and the car's been sitting for 2 weeks, except a quick drive around the block once a week and on weekends.

I was having the same problem. Went to a slightly smaller o-ring and the problem was solved.

Try this, I had a problem with one of my new 505's and it turned out to be a small thread of rubber from the tire interferring with the seal between wheel and tire. Cut off the offending piece of rubber and re-mounted tire. I have had no further problems.

Sounds like this might be your problem.
