Funny how opinions vary. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want a Vette that wasn't a convertible. What's the point?

For the C4, I'd take a Gran Sport Coupe. For the C5, definitely a Z06 with the 405 HP engine.

It's not a true sports car unless it is a Red Vert/Roadster.

Another vote for the '96 grand Sport or the ZR1.

I'm a coupe guy all the way so has to be ZR1 and Z06! I kept my C4 and love it as much or more than the C5! They each have their own unique qualities that one has to appreciate or its not worth owning. And like them or not they are all still CORVETTES!. I don't ever want to regret selling one so I guess I'm stuck as their caretaker until the next lucky guy replaces me in that job. Thats why I have a garage full of plastic. [img]By the way,I still love the looks of a clean C4 .

Not to mention the Zr1 was a wide bodied car, with some nicer curves than the stock C4. The z06 is nothing but a C5 <FRC> with some bolt ons, no huge dealer mark ups and very common.

If I had the extra 12K to spend when I bought my Coupe. I would have gotten the Z.

I have a been a corvette lover since i was a little fella and my thoughts then, and right up until today is that i would only buy a coupe for every generation except midyears. to me the midyear is the only convertible that a appeals more than a coupe. C3 C4 C5 C6, give me a Z06 or Coupe anyday! As for an answer to your question, i would always buy the performance oriented Vette over the vert!

Regarding the C-5, I thoroughly expect to still have my coupe in ten years, thank you. I've a couple other verts (one nearly 50 years old) and that's enough.
