I think my valve stem is leaking in my left front tire. Can the valve stem be replaced by a tire shop or do i need to replace the whole sensor with it as well?

Take a little dish washing liquid and a little water and mix it. Pour it on the valve if its leaking where the little needle comes up out of the middle of it, they can be tightened. sometimes they leak there most tire shops can do it in 30 sec. if you don't have the little deals to do it with.

The valve stem is most definitely part of the sensor. Maybe the Schrader valve in the valve stem is loose. Take a drop of water (spit works, too!) and put it on the end of the valve stem with the cap off. If it makes a bubble, you are loosing air there. You used to be able to buy valve stems and the little wrench at autoparts stores, and you probably still can.....

You can easily replace the little valve inside the stem for just a couple bucks. Any auto store should have the tool and the valves in the tire dept. I recently replaced two and it was a snap.

I have a "Slime" tire repair kit, which they came with, and the tool. I replaced all 4 of them just to be safe.
