I called him at the number listed and got a phone call back right away. I'd try that if I were you. You know how email gets messed up sometimes. Dave was totally commited to making things right.

Well I finally got the line lock parts in the mail today. Hooked them up and guess what??? Still leaking all over the place. I'm gonn try swapping out the fittings on the main piece itself. This isn't what I expected out of a $200.00 part.

Where are the leaks coming from? Make sure u compare the fittings on the stock piece to the new one. Mine had the wrong type of threads totally. The receipt shows the right application but something was clearly screwed up. An e-mail or something from CarTek would have been nice. I'm sure they have seen my posts regarding the problems but they still haven't acknowleged the problem.

I can't return mine because I ended up cutting it to make it work. I already had the interior apart to install a shifter so I REALLY wanted to get the line lock installed in the same day. BTW, mine was $260 lol. If they ignore comments and e-mail regarding a simple line lock then there is NO WAY IN HELL I would buy a forged short block from them in the future. When my warranty runs out...I'm calling Andy.

Its leaking at the bottom end of the unit right where the two fittings thread together. I tightened it as much as anyone could and it still leaks. I also have it all wired up and can't return it. They sent me two extra brass large fittings that screw into the main piece. I'm goging to try replacing on of them and see if it works. If not, then it was a total waste of money. Not to mention the lost hours installing and uninstalling brake parts and bleeding my system!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your line lock. I thought maybe mine was a fluke. I guess not.

Cartek's quality really seems to be slipping. Maybe Dave will look in to what the problem is with their line locks.

I noticed that when I had questions about purchasing their kit, I got an instant response. But when I had a problem with it, no response at all.

Well a buddy and I just swapped out the brass fitting int he line lock itself. My buddy said the threads looked "weird" as did the hole in the bottom. It was more oval then circular. We put the line lock in a vise, installed a new brass fitting and sealed the heck out of it. We did a air pressure test out then in some water. "looks" line no more leak, but we shall see. I'm gonna se aside an entire day to install this time so I'm not bleeding my brakes at midnight before work again.

What a bummer... I just had a Cartek line lock installed... Zero Problems and it works great.

I'm ready for a new set of rear tires now

Cartek has been selling these for several years and I have never heard anything bad about them. As for as the lines not being bent right... sounds like you might have a kit a different year. Did GM change the Anti-Lock brake unit mid model year ??

When I first went to buy mine over the counter... the kits for the Corvette required you to flare a peice of break line and add the proper fittings. I bought the Cartek because it was a complete bolt in kit.

Maybe, the manufacture put out a batch of bad fittings

Mine had the wrong fitting as well as being too short. I have a 2003 Z06 and that's what I told Dave when I ordered it. The receipt lists the applications as 2001 + for model year. I don't know what happened but it was a PITA. My problems weren't as bad as Dragon84's though. My solenoid worked okay when it was hooked up.

I bought a linelock from summit for $39 brand new i think. The install can't be so hard that it would warrant me to pay $235 for the same solenoid with some prebent lines. just my .02

That would prob be the best bet. You just need to find the correct fittings. My local parts store doesn't stock them.

Here's the Cartek line lock I was sent next to the original brake line. Notice any difference?

Per George8211's recommendation, I was ready to dish out the CC, but seems like there's some issues. I guess i'll just wait till next spring to install mine. I'm sure by then things will be worked out!

Zach, I called Dave today and talked to him for a while and asked about some of the problems lately. I felt assured that the problems were out of the ordinary, and that my line lock will fit flawlessly. I also sent the link to Dave so he could maybe respond or just be aware of the situations. I should have mine within a couple days and will post my experience.
Also, just wanted to say that he is having a special now and got my lock for $50 off.

One fitting has a fine thread and the other is coarse threaded. Anyone else notice that?

I'm glad we caught that before the master cylinder got screwed up.
