Default Looking for a line lock...which one?

What type do you have? Are they all the same? Would love a part number or link to buy one, please.

Thanks in advance,

Alex

I agree, go with the Cartek unit. The prebent tubing and fittings are well worth the extra money.

I also have heard the Cartek with the prebent tubing is a perfect fit. Anyone know of a good deal on the price for it?

I bought the Cartek line lock. We are installing it today. It has no instructions, the line is bent incorrectly and the fitting on one end is wrong. I am REALLY disappointed with the Cartek linelock for what they charged me. I think it was around $263. If I didn't need to get it finished today, I would have sent it back. I am trying to find out how to wire it but unfortunately the install from cajun doesn't say anything about putting power to it.

Well it's in now. I prob should have just bought a universal kit instead of paying what I did for Cartek's kit. We got it working but we had to cut the fitting off the stock brake line and rebend( and reflare) the line. By this time I wasted more money in bending and flaring tools.

I could not find ANY install instructions that mentioned the wiring.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have an email out to them inquiring about one, and was planning on getting one this week from them. As this post and a couple others say that is the best one to get. Hopefully some of the others will comment about any install problems they may have had, before I get one.
I would hate to spend more then twice the other line locks for a P.O.S.

I was looking through the Jegs catalog and they have a line lock with installation kit for $73.99. Looks like this could be the way to go, the kit comes with a few lengths of line and fittings. Only question is that it says not compatible with metric fittings. Anyone know if the vette uses metric brake fittings?

Yeah they have a good reputation. I guess I can't expect much in my case since I didn't have the time to return it. Every company has things go wrong once in a while. I guess the way to judge them is to see how they take care of problems when they arise. They will prob replace it for you.

Thats the first problem I have heard of with the Cartek linelock. Mine installed without any issues. I wonder what happened at Cartek?

Default Update

I called today and they nicely took down all my information and said Dave himself would have to call me back. They were very kind and curtious and didn't make a big fuss about it. Still no call back, but I don't think Dave was there today.

Well I would wait until we see how they take care of Dragon84. Like I said, things happen to even the best companies. It's how they deal with the problems that really matter. My kit was screwed up. There was no doubt about it. My guess is that it was prob a Monday morning job, who knows?

Default update 2

Dave called me back earlier this evening. I explained the problem with the line coming from the unit. No questions asked he said he'd send me out a new line and fitting first thing in the morning.

I haven't heard anything from the e-mail I sent. I am still pissed that I had to cut my factory line to get the linelock to fit. At least it's in and working.
