I just bought an optima yellowtop last week. Is there any difference between that and the redtop? Other then the deep cycle abilities of the yellowtop. I see from the list posted earlier the yellowtop is seven lbs. lighter.

Really the Red Top is considered the "starting" battery, and the yellow is the deep discharge (or cycle). The Yellow is really meant for situations where you are going to run lights, audio, etc. for long periods. For simple starting, the Red Top is probably a better choice.
Why does replacing the battery screw with reseting codes, tire sensors, etc... I've heard that some people have problems with that. Is that with all vettes.
This is why I love this forum, lots of good information . Thanks to you all for the heads-up and especially Randy, or should I call him "The Amazing Randy."
I know how to reset my tire sensors, but how do I reset my key fobs if I need to after I replace the battery?

You can just call me Randy!
You might not have to reset anything beyond the clock or possibly your radio presets.
If you have to reset the fobs, try simply retraining them first by standing a foot or so away from the front fender (next to the driver's side cove) and holding down the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. The horn should honk in about 10 seconds, then you're good to go! If you have to relearn the fobs (the retraining fails) in the front section of the owner's manual is a step by step procedure.
Chances are pretty good you won't have to do anything.
A couple of last tips.....remove the negative (black) first, and install the negative last. Also, don't drop the wrench that you use to take of the battery cables. It will fall to the bottom of the fender and it is a biotch to get it out of there! Trust me on this......happened to me!

Thanks for all your help Randy .
I will tie a small piece of string to my wrist and the other end to the wrench to prevent loosing it into the fender cavity. I don't want to think about anything falling into that area of the engine compartment!
Just installed the Red top a couple days ago, it fit perfectly. Did not have to reset anything except the clock. I also dropped the socket below the batery tray. Good thing we had a long magnet handy.
