Hey guys....my goal for my Z06 is about 400 RWHP....right now i have borla stinger catback, halltech intake with ssm filter and throttle body bypass installed......here is what im thinking......add: x-pipe, random tech high flow cats, 160 degree thermostat, beru plugs, msd wires and a LS1/LS6 Edit professional computer tune by Bill Kelley Chevrolet......I didnt say headers because i am worried about voiding my warranty.....do you think i will reach my goal.....if not, give me some ideas....thanks
No you will not reach your goal. A small cam and headers should do the trick.
Nitrous might be the way to go if you're worried about mods the dealer will complain about...you'll just have to hide/remove the nitrous everytime you need warantee work.
Which year Z06 do you have? Those mods really don't add much RWHP except if you have a '02 or later; there is ~20 hp available with a PCM programming. How about adding long-tube headers instead of the $$$ for some of the mods you were planning? BTW we didn't bother adding high-flow cats to our 427 until we were up to ~500 RWHP. If you want the power heads & cam is what I would do.

pcm tuning gets zippo or very little on stock z. 20 no friggin way
Cam and/or headers should get your there. I agree with the guys above, The Mods you have listed above isn't going to do that much. I think you are going to have to make at least 50+ RWHP, and you won't get that from just mufflers/cats/X-pipe and a CAI. The spark plugs and wires aren't going to gain nothing.............unless you have a miss.
Why in the world would headers void your warranty? I guess if you develope an exhaust leak I could see where they could be a problem. But for anything else, your warranty should be fine.
Many have tried for years to get to 400 RWHP with just "bolt on's" w/o opening the motor. I have never heard of anyone doing it. Some have come close 395 or so. But in reality what's the difference between 390 and 400 aside from bragging rights?
You're going to need a small cam to break the 400 mark along with all the usual bolt-on's and a good tune.
Here's my latest dyno graph
I have intake and exhaust mods, if I installed LT headers and got it tuned I'd probably get close to 390. I doubt I'll see 400.
Check and see if your dealer is mod friendly, if not try to find one in your area that is. Then you can make mods they say will not void the warranty. It what I did, and its made me one very happy modaholic.
will not make it without headers. Too much restriction with stock headers. Then you will need to do something else. Maybe doing someting with your stock heads would help, but I think cam is the best way to get there.
Someone I know with a Z06 with vararam and headers and a good tune is at 388 rwhp so finding that extra 12rwhp is not that easy....
BWT - headers will not void your engine warranty unless there is a direct correlation between the failed part and the headers. I would though look for a Mod friendly Vette Tech...
