Default AH/Traction control

I've looked in the archives and found great info on the AH/TC systems in my 2001 Z06. Thank everybody.
Now; having read most of the posts I surmize that my car should have FOUR positions controlled by the HGD (Happy Goodyear Dealer) button...
All ON
TC off/AH on
Comp mode
All off

I can get the first three but the All Off ain't happenin' no matter how long the HGD button is held down.

Did only SOME of the '01's come equipped so as to allow the TC and AH to be turned off or did I offend this thing when I called it an oil burning POS?

Thanks in Advance

Chris

TC off/AH on IS Comp mode. Just pushin the button(not holding it) will switch between all on/all off. Holding it for 5 secs puts it into Comp Mode. You should have THREE positions.(That's how it works on my '02 Z at least)

The C5 has only 3 settings, the C6 has 4.

And my '04 Z16 too. Except my Comp Mode takes A LOT longer than 5 sec. hold.

What's the fourth mode on the C6? Traction control on and active handling off?

That still doesn't make sense to me to be able to just hit the button and turn everything off, but have to hold the button for at least 5 seconds to get it into Comp Mode, which most people use most of the time anyway.

And brother don't you know it. Especially when you want comp mode right now, the light is about to change, and the goofball in the next lane is in dire need of a woopin.

It's called a Laptrax TracActive Controller.

http://www.corvettegarage.com/produc...-corvette.html

You can set it so your car starts in Comp Mode.

I don't know if they make it for the C6 yet.

You can set it so your car starts in Comp Mode. I also like the deluxe model because it automatically resets the Competition Mode display on the DIC.

1. All ON
2. TC off/AH on
3. Comp mode
4. All off (hold the button down for 10 sec)

The first three just cycle with each button push, the 4th mode requires a longer hold down of the button like Comp mode on the C5

What's the difference between these two modes? I thought that Comp Mode was TC off/AH on?

X,
I think in the C6 the Comp Mode has more aggressive limits than the second mode. Basically the same mode with different setpoints from what I've read.

That would make sense and it would be an improvement over the C5 system. At least I hope that it would. Some people don't find the active handling intrusive, but I find it a little intrusive in Comp Mode on the track. If the new TC off/AH on for the C6 is like the old Comp Mode on the C5 and the new Comp Mode on the C6 is more sporting, I would certainly like that better. Does anyone know this for certain? Not that it matters because I doubt that you can retrofit this system to the C5.
