Default Advice on high mileage

A relative of mine is offering to sell me his 98 A4 blk/blk FRC for $11k. The car is in good shape but has 97k miles. He is the original owner and has done a good job of maintenance. No major problems but the high mileage scares me a bit. I had a 71 about 10 years ago so the C5 is all new to me. Any suggestions/concerns would be appreciated!

For that price, I'd buy it. You said he took good care of the car. It should be good for another 100K.

I'll bet it's got $11,000 left in it. Go for it!

I don't mean to be picky, but I'm pretty sure that 1999 was the 1st year for the FRC. If you can get a 1998, it's realllllllllly rare. Maybe a typo. Is this correct guys? Also I noticed an A4 trans listed. All FRC's came with M6 transmission to my knowledge.

If the car was properly maintained, as you said, 97K miles should not be a problem!! With that price, how can you go wrong! Go for it!!!!

And here's a wave!

11k for that car is a great price. You could turn around and sell it for 14-15k probably.

$11k and 97K miles - that thing's good for another 97K miles. besides, you could always part it out and get more than $11K - GO FOR IT!!!

Buy it. You could get an LS6 crate engine for arround $5K if the origional engine goes kaput and still come out on top.
