One of my wife's co-workers just won a 2005 C6 coupe (mag red) in a raffle and is selling it. It is a 6-speed with the 1sa package and polished wheels. It's never been registered. She is asking 43k. I have an '01 coupe, 59k miles, 6 speed, z-51, fully optioned, with a Borla exhaust and a Breathless intake. Mine is paid off. Should I sell mine and buy this one? How many of you would do it? I'm a little reluctant about having to make car payments again but I'm also debating this: being that I'm going to flip 60k miles soon, how much will that affect the value of my car? BTW, I bought my car used with 52k miles. It only sees about 4500 - 5000 miles a year.

i'm getting a huge sense of the tension of 60,000 miles vs 0 miles. the matter of a car payment is sobering. we have been considering trading our 00 c5 for a new c6------------i'm sure it would be exciting as hell to have a brand new c6----however that payments thing is not quite what i'd call a turn-on. reality then slaps me across the face with a "dummy-----you HAVE a CORVETTE ALREADY". then i settle down & just smile. btw, your wife's coworker is one lucky stiff!!!! bub

I'd keep the C5. Better looking and no payments.

If you like the styling of the C6 go for it. I would stick with the C5 and no payments and mod yours out! Good luck!

I still think the C5 is the more futuristic looking Corvette. The C6 looks like a big miata to me. When I see a C6 coming down the street I have a hard time identifying it as a Corvette. When I see any other version of the Corvette I know instantly that it is a Vette. Just my observations so far. The C6 Z06 does look tempting though. Haven't seen one of those on the street yet. I would keep your C5.

I'm still not sold on the styling myself, but it is nice. There are big discounts now on the 05's. If she really wants to deal, then it would have to be in the 30's.
