Do the aftermarket exhaust's re:Borla, Corsa, B&B make any performance difference? They claim a 10 to 15 HP increase over stock but does that really make the car faster or does it just sound faster?

Cat-back exhaust are for sound only. Since the flow is limited by intake, opening up the mufflers won't increase HP.

Sound alone is worth it. Then when you add headers it just keeps getting better and better.

After my Corsa's were installed, my mileage went to hell. I couldn't help stomping on it from red lights.

You can get anywhere from 5 - 20 hp increase depending on who you want to believe, but the sound hp increase is usually about 75 - 100 hp.

You need to put a blower on there to cram more air in

Nah... probably more like 409 if you have the exhaust plate.

You get more HP from a hood seal.

All I've done to my car is a Blackwing and a Corsa touring. I have a '97 which starts at 345 at the crank. If I subtract the drivetrain loss which is estimated at 14% for a mn6 I should have been at 296.7 stock at the rear wheels. I had my car dynoed last month and I pulled at 308.7 at the rear. I have a gain of 12 rwhp over my calculated rwhp (or 14.3 at the crank) I am betting the split is 85/15 for intake to exhaust.
