Best Brakes !!???

brembo
Wilwood
Baer
StopTech
C6 ZO6 ...really am interested in these ...by the way ...
and if any one has any other suggestion that would be greatly appreicated !!
Thankx
The stock system really isn't that bad, it will survive T1 races, which is worse than anything you're going to put it through on the street.
You can get a good deal on a Wilwood front brake system from LG. I'm a big fan of Wilwood pads and I've got a set of Wilwood caliper on the way.
don't forget to look at AP Racing calipers. you can get a package for DRM

i have the movit system on the front 993 turbo 4 pot. these brakes are awesome.
The typical setup recomended for track days are DRM ducts, LG or Pheonix spindle ducts, track pads (Carbotech XP8,9,10,11, PFC-01, Wilwood H, ext), good fluid (Castrol SRF, ATE Superblue) and Stock/NAPA/Raybestos rotors (DRILLED ROTORS ARE A BLING MOD ONLY AND WILL CRACK ON THE TRACK)
This is more than enough for a typical track day noob, but you wouldn't want to put any of those pads on a street car, they are loud, dust a lot, a don't work as well when they are cold.
Once you get to a point where you've got to replace your calipers, you can start looking at upgrading if you are not limited by class rules. I chose the LG Motorsports Wilwood front brake package for many reasons.
1. calipers will last much longer,
2. pads are cheaper and thicker which means they will last longer and I will save money over the long run, since I burn through several sets per year. Plus, the pads are easier to change.
3. the 6-piston setup means the pads won't taper
4. I can still use the NAPA rotors for $25 each, keeping cost down and I can afford to keep several sets of spares
5. The fluid volume is the same so I won't have to worry about brake bias issues or soft pedals and I can keep the stock rear calipers which do almost none of the braking
If Cali 17 is a hardcore drag racer, I'd suggest those titanium blade rotors and lightweight calipers that got posted several months ago to keep the weight down, but I wouldn’t want them on even a street car.
The C5-6/C6.R uses an AP Racing setup. LG uses Stoptech calipers on the front and Wilwood SL-6 Calipers on the rear for his 2 World Challenge cars
None of the setups are bad and realistically, they are overkill for 95% of drivers, just get pads that have the right temperature range and enough torque to lock up the wheels and you're good to go. The rest is just picking out something the looks good
