A good example is this past weekend. I was gone for the day on Saturday and I needed to borrow my brothers truck. So in all fairness I gave him the keys to my Vette. Well he was running some errands around town and stopped at Arby's to get some lunch. While he was inside eating, some little punk ripped off my rear crossed flags emblem. Don't know how the person did it because there is no physical damage to the car, i.e. scratch marks or signs of ripping the emblem up. I guess the kid only wanted the emblem, cause he/she didn't key the car or anything. It kind of sucks owning a Vette cause some people feel it is their duty to ruin it. And I know if the Vette was something else, say a truck of some sort, it would be left alone. Oh well, life goes on, and at least it's only the cost of a new emblem and not a new paint job.
It’s difficult to figure out why people do mean things. Sometimes I think jealousy plays a role in the way some people behave. Try not to let this incident get you down. Use it and enjoy!
ouch; sorry to hear it. this happened on your bro's watch ; he has some responsibility to pony up & make it right. bub
Wouldn't you pony up if someone had stolen his hood ornament, emblem, etc?
The bright side, as pointed out above... is this is a cheap fix... but still annoying as hell... Next time, give him a DIFFERENT car to drive while you have his truck...
No damage? Are you sure it didn't just fall off? I know it's not likely but it could happen.
That's what I was thinking. Otherwise I would think you would see some kind of pry mark or something. Get the Magnifying glass out and look real close. I know there is some really stupid people in this world, but I wouldn't think someone would be so stupid to try to rip off a emblem in daylight at a fast food joint where people are coming in and out and take a chance on getting there face rearanged for something like that.
Lots of haters out there. A C5 isn't the most exclusive car by any means anymore, but still is a dream car to most Americans simply because of what it stands for.
I tend to think it came off of it's own accord. If it was tight someone would have had to have some adhesive remover and taken time to work very carefully. Not likely.
This stuff doesn't only happen to Vettes. Drove my 89' Silverado "farm truck" to the doctor one day and some one broke into it to steal a cheap aftermarket stereo.
i know how you feel man, I am living in dorm at the college im attending and I'm always worried someone is going to mess with my car...still love it though and would never regret having it!
