I have the original run craps on my 02 with 13k miles. What is the life expectancy of these tires? I read some posts and they have close to 30k with the original tires, not sure if they are the run craps though.
I got 30k out of my runflats. They still had probably 5 to 10k left on them but they were getting so loud and loose on take off I got rid of them. I bought GY GS-D3's and love them. Now I carry a compressor and a plug kit. And there's no turning back. No more runflats for this guy.

I got right at 15K miles out of my original rear EMTs. Didn't drive the car hard at all, they just wore out. The fronts still had about 75% of the tread on them.
At 13K miles I had 8/32 on the front original tires and 3/32 on the rear. I picked up a pair of rear tires here on the forum with 8/32 on them for $300.00. I now have 20K miles on the car and all four EMT tires have 6/32 remaining. When they wear out I will replace them with another new set of runflats. I like the piece of mind and the car was designed specifically designed for this tire. A tire kit won't help if the sidewall blows out or worse.
Quite frankly I don't agree with all the negative comments relative to the OEM tires. My car is a daily driver and I don't race it. The original tires have been fine in the rain as well as when the road is dry. I agree that there are higher performance tires available, but most corvettes were not purchased to drag race or run the 24 hrs at Le Mans.

you should get 20-30k out of them if you dont run them hard.
the thing with ANY tire on a vette is that the handling starts going away at about 60% and its crapola by 40%.
